Happy New Year!!!! While sitting here reading about the Jacksonian Period in American History, I had a thought, that I needed to write more. So here I go. I love history, no I am not reading for pleasure right now, I am a 45-year-old Online College Student, majoring in American History. I also love traveling. When the movie
The Bucket List came out, I thought what would be my Bucket List. The National Parks of America. History, nature, culture all wrapped up into a great travel tool. Currently I have visited 44 park in the system and have plans to get at least 10 this year.
To all that feel the same about our National Parks, I highly recommend purchasing a passport at any park (get the Explorer's Edition) or at eparks.com. There is also a great phone app for tracking your NPS travels offered by eparks called Passport to you National Parks.

I am going to be heading out to Vegas in a couple days and getting at least the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and Death Valley National Park, but wanted to start this blog off. I will be catching up on some of my adventures over the last two years. I travel frequently with my mom, Lois, and my favorite National Park geek Lori P. Buddy the Bison (mascot for the National Park Foundation) joins us frequently also. He has his own Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/BuddyBisonDyer. You can follow his travels with his Mom (me), Grandma (Lois) and Aunt Lori (Lori P.)
Within the last two years I have visited several park in Arizona, Ft. McHenry in Maryland, several parks in upstate NY, several in PA, San Francisco, several Civil War Parks in and around the PA/MD area, a couple in Florida and a couple in Ohio. I will be catching up the blog over the next couple months going backwards from my most recent travels, so I hope you enjoy. I take many pictures at these sites so I will share them also.
2014's adventure begins in Las Vegas in a couple days, but I promise to write before then. Until then, safe travels, enjoy life and get you bucket list checked off.
